PostSubject: Character Gallery   Character Gallery I_icon_minitimeWed Apr 13, 2011 2:41 am

The character gallery is a list of all the heroes, villains, and other noteworthy individuals found in the stories of the Legends & Lore section. Characters will be arranged from factions and/or story titles. I'll try to keep any spoilers out of the gallery for those who haven't read the stories.

The Twilight Knights

Steel Fire: The leader of the fighter group known as the Twilight Knights, who dedicate themselves to keeping the peace and the balance of power in check in Lore. Steel's father was killed when he was just a boy, and his mother vanished soon afterwards (Steel believes her to be deceased). At the age of nineteen, Steel was visited in a vision by the Goddess of Twilight, Hakama, who told Steel of his destiny to become the leader of the Twilight Knights. Nine years have passed since Steel took the throne, and since then, the Twilight Realm has flourished under his rule. As of now, the Twilight Realm has a sizable army and a small village. Steel and his elite warriors (the Twilight Knights) protect their realm whenever it falls under threat, and they often venture into Lore to aid the people there.

Slayernator (AKA Slayer) : Steel's second-in-command, and childhood friend. As a boy, Slayer's family was slaughtered in an orc raid, and only he, Steel, and Steel's mother survived the assault. On that day, Slayer swore that he would defend those who couldn't defend themselves. His chance came when Steel Fire invited him to join the Twilight Knights, and since then, he has served faithfully as Steel's left hand man. Slayer often oversees many missions and sometimes accompanies the knights on their journeys himself.

Rayzer: Steel's right hand, who often serves as the Twilight Mage. Rayzer's parents died in a fire when she was little, and since then, Rayzer has raised herself, living on the streets in poverty. However, at the age of seventeen, Rayzer discovered a secret fortune that her parents had amassed, which instantly turned her from a poverty-stricken homeless woman to a wealthy bachelorette. It was also around this time that she met a young man named Steel Fire, and the two became close friends. At the age of nineteen, Steel approached Rayzer and asked her to be a part of the Twilight Knights. Rayzer, reluctant at first, refused. After witnessing the Twilight Realm with her own eyes, however, she instantly recanted. Rayzer uses her wealth to help fund some of the Twilight Knight's projects.

Arata: Hailing from the icy southern lands called Arcterra, Arata spent most of his life as a fisherman and hunter for his tribe. Arata is an Arcterran, which means he has a deep connection to ice and water, and can even manipulate the latter to heal himself or to attack his opponents. Arata's life changed dramatically when he turned sixteen, and had to partake in the traditional Rite of Passage inside the sacred Temple of Torrents. Arata and the other hopefuls made their way into the center of the temple, where the mystical blade of torrents, Hokkyoku, rested. Tradition among the young men of Arcterra dictated that each boy try to pull the blade out of it's icy prison, though none had succeeded...until Arata. Not long after he freed the blade from it's resting place, Arata and his brother Alastor were swept away in a powerful storm, and wound up on the shores of Lore. After spending several days attempting to gather his bearings, Arata became embroiled in the Chaos Wars that were ravaging Lore and ended up becoming a Twilight Knight. As the youngest member of the Twilight Knights, Arata can be a little headstrong at times.

Frozen Fighter: A ranger who wanders Lore, seeking out creatures of darkness and ending them. As a boy, Frozen's town was sacked, and the inhabitants enslaved to be used as cattle for the Darkovian Vampires. His father died trying to defend the people, and as such, the ties between Frozen and the vamps run deep. When not hunting vampires, Frozen often plays bounty hunter, taking on contracts to track and capture outlaws or bandits. Frozen was inducted into the Twilight Knights after he accidentally discovered the Twilight Realm, and since then, he has acted as Steel's foremost scout. In battle, Frozen uses the enchanted longbow, Yumi, to destroy beings of darkness. Interestingly, the title "Frozen Fighter" has been used by two other vampire hunters in Lore's history, leading some lesser vampires to believe that the Frozen Fighter is a vengeful spirit of some kind.

Bill: A warrior who has wandered Lore for twelve years, safeguarding an evil, chaotic artifact. As a child, Bill grew up in the Aetherius, a large monastery just several miles outside of Swordhaven. He never knew his parents. His adoptive father, Theo, told him that his mother had died giving birth to him, and that his father eventually gave him up to the monastery because he wanted Bill to have a good life. Theo would often entertain Bill with stories of heroes and villains, epic quests and mighty dragons. The stories stuck, and fueled young Bill's imagination with images of adventure. Bill's life changed tragically when he turned eighteen, when a mysterious mage donated an artifact to the Aetherius. The artifact was a gold and crimson ring. Several days after the ring had arrived, Theo began to obess over the artifact. The ring drove Theo mad, turning him against his fellow scholars and his son. When the battle was over, Theo was dead. Bill, realizing the ring had been the source of Theo's madness, took the artifact, vowing to destroy it. Bill was made a Twilight Knight when Arata guided him into the Twilight Realm to meet with Steel Fire.

Xavier: The resident mage of the Twilight Realm, second only to Rayzer. Xavier is often characterized by his sarcastic and often cold personality. Xavier was placed into the Mage's Guild at a young age. Several years later, he rose to the highest rank the Mage's Guild could bestow upon him, and he soon left the guild to pursue more advanced magical practices. It was around this time that Xavier met Steel, Rayzer and Slayer, and quickly became a member of the Twilight Knights. He's intensely loyal to his new faction, although he can't stand incompetance of any kind, and often harps on the newer recruits for that reason.

Azkikr: Often called Azk for short, he is an assassin for the Twilight Realm. As a young boy, Azk grew up on the streets, struggling to survive everyday, until the day he was able to join the Thieves' Guild. Azk's reputation as a pickpocket grew, until one day his masters witnessed Azk's knife throwing capabilities. Realizing Azk could be handy in eliminating any threat to the guild, they began to train him as an assassin. Soon afterwards, Azk was inducted into the elite assassin band of Swordhaven, the Night Angels. One day, Azk was asked to eliminate a high profile target by the name of Steel Fire. He nearly succeeded, but Steel gained the upper hand and knocked him unconscious. When Azk awoke, he was in the Twilight Realm. Steel explained that he had sensed the assassin's potential, and asked him to join. Azk accepted. As an assassin, Azk finds it hard to express emotion to others, so he often appears distant. The only time he seems to actually express himself is when he is with Selena Nightingale.

Nami: A young girl hailing from the Yokai Isles, who, unlike most fighters, prefers to fight in a light kimono rather than an actual armor. During the war of Chaos, Nami's sister was killed by the agents of Geddon, and offered up as a sacrifice in an attempt to break the seals of the Death God (in an alternate telling, Nami's family was actually killed by the agents of Kitsune). She is saved by the ranger, Frozen Fighter, and thus has a deep respect for his trade and his deed. Because her life was rescued by the Ranger, she traveled with him and eventually became a Twilight Knight. In battle, Nami prefers to use an odd tandem of katana and dagger. Nami can be described as light hearted, but she harbors a deep hatred for those who killed her family.

Draconor: One of the few remaining Dragonlords in Lore, Draconor grew up in a small village in Greenguard. One day, his village came under attack by bandits, and his father was killed by the invaders. Before he died, He told Draconor
that he was destined to become a Dragonlord, and passed on his Dragon Amulet to him. It was around this time that Drac discovered a black dragon egg, which would later be revealed to be the spawn of his father's dragon. Drac named the baby dragon Drainon the Jet, and the two traveled Lore, strengthening their bonds. During their travels, Drac and Drainon encountered the fighting force known as the Twilight Knights, and soon joined their ranks. During a fierce battle between Chaos and the Twilight, Drac's life came under threat, and Drainon, loyal to death, swooped in and saved Drac's life, but ultimately ending his own. Drac has since left the Twilight Knights, though rumors say that a Dragonlord has been seen far to the south...

Selena: A powerful Shadowmancer who was first seen living in Darkovia (in an alternate telling, she actually is first seen as a Twilight Knight). As far as she or anyone else knows, Selena is the last of her kind. The last Shadowmancer. Shadowmancy is the art of controlling shadows or pure darkness. While she seems rather cheerful, it's clear to the other knights that Selena harbors a dark secret...maybe one that she herself doesn't realize. After being captured by Azk, Selena actually started developing feelings for the assassin. In battle, Selena uses her Shadowmancy to transform her arms into powerful shadow dragon claws. (Here's a fun fact: Did you know Selena was originally intended to be Bill's love interest?)

Leyla: A sweet girl from the small village of Sayle, where she lives peacefully with her grandfather, Cor. Her life takes an intersting (but not unwelcome) turn when she meets a young, blue-haired boy named Arata. After getting separated from him, Leyla and Arata's brother Alastor seek him out, eventually finding him once more amidst the chaos in Swordhaven. Leyla has a deep connection to plants, and can call upon them for aid, or simply talk to them (the mark of a powerful Druid). Ever since becoming a Twilight Knight, Leyla's feelings for Arata have only increased. In battle, Leyla can call upon nature to aid her, or use her hooked Cat-O'-Nine-Tails.

Alastor: Arata's younger, adopted brother, who possesses the ability to command wind. When Arata finally completes his rite into adulthood, he and Alastor are swept away in a powerful storm. The two of them get caught up in the Chaos Wars and eventually join the Twilight Knights. In battle, Al uses a powerful mace to deal crushing blows against armored and unarmrored foes alike.

The Twilight Foes

Drakath: The Prince of Chaos, and the person causing all the stir in Lore right now. His Chaos is a natural enemy to the Twilight's Harmony. He tried to create his own realm by using a piece of the Nox Shard, but was ultimately stopped by the Twilight Knights. Even though he was stopped, he continues to tighten his grip around Lore with his Thirteen Lords of Chaos.

Fuketa: A malicious dark copy of Arata. Fuketa is both a mirror image and an opposite to Arata in almost every way. He takes extreme delight in the suffering and pain of others, and appears to be destructive merely because he can. Fuketa was brought to life when Arata accidentally touched the Nox shard. The shard focused all of Arata's negative emotions--Sadness, Anger, Hatred--and turned them into an actual being comprised of said emotions. He loathes Arata and everything he stands for. In battle, Fuketa's water manipulation is equal to Arata's, and he even uses a dark shadow of Hokkyoku, called Shimoyuke.

Anselm: A lich that deeply despises the world, and seeks to destroy it completely. Anselm ascended to lich'dom after witnessing his wife's execution. Driven mad with grief and rage, Anselm turned to Necromancy and using it's black power, turned himself immortal. He currently leads his army, the Knights of the Onyx Skull, from a run down old castle in an undisclosed location. He is no ordinary lich and doesn't appear to feel pain in the slightest. In battle, Anselm uses powerful black magic to utterly destroy his foes.

Sangue: A servant of Geddon, the original god of Death, who seeks the revival of his god. He attempts to revive Geddon, Talona, Yami, and Empousa by destroying the seals that bind most of their power away. Dangerously devout to his god, Sangue hasn't the slightest inkling of morality in his body, and will willingly kill anybody in the name of his god.

Vanya: A rogue vampire who defied the vampire queen and launched a campaign against humanity for the control of Lore. She operates her army, the Endless Night, out of her small keep in Darkovia. Her defiance of the vampire queen has made her an enemy of Safiria's, yet she still finds new recruits lining up to join her cause. She appears to have a large network of spies and informants at her disposal.

Zoromir: A Shadowmancer master, who appears to have some ties to Selena Nightingale. His control over darkness is unparalleled, most likely due to his devotion to Yami, the God of Darkness, Fear, and Mystery. When his tome vanishes, he sends his minions to retrieve it, no matter the cost. In battle, Zoromir will call upon his dark powers to summon creatures or to harm his foes. It is said that his mastery of Shadowmancy has even allowed him to transform into a terrifying creature...

The Agent of Talona: A devious and malicious entity that resides within the Ring of Poison, often just called "The Agent" for short. The Agent was created by Talona to cause strife and chaos for all mortal beings. It lures its victims by promising great power (power that a god might desire) and then it violently attacks it's wearer's will, ultimately controlling them. Bill carries this ring wherever he goes, making sure no harm can befall anyone else. It's a heavy burdan for him, but Bill would never admit it. It is rumored that the Agent of Talona is actually a portion of Talona's personality and power.

Thanatos: An elder god who, before time existed, opposed his sister's plan to create a perfect plane of existance (the Prime Material Plane). Enraged that mortals should be given a paradise fit for gods, Thanatos stormed the world, siphoning life and souls from the inhabitants and deeming himself the Harbinger and Emperor of the planet. He battled his sister in a brawl that would devastate a great portion of the planet, and ultimately lost. Thanatos does not reign over a specific element, as do Arcterra, Mori, or Talona. Upon his defeat, Thanatos' title as an elder god was stripped, and he was banished to the hellish plane of the Abyss, taking on the new moniker "The Demon God". Thanatos seems to take extreme pleasure in devouring living souls. He also seems to grow stronger as a result, possibly from his relationship to the Great Goddess of Lore, who gave life to all things. (Fun fact: Thanatos' power is a twisted version of Life, developed from his time in the Abyss)

Other Twilight Characters

Cor: Leyla's grandfather, who is also a retired swordsman. He lives peacefully in Sayle with his granddaughter whom he raises. He's made sure to raise Leyla right. As a younger man, he was friends with Anselm while he was captain of Swordhaven's guard. Although Anselm never knew it, Cor was instrumental to ensuring young William's survival.

Dante: A shadow ghoul hailing from the Plane of Nightmares. Dante is an odd creature, who likes to torment or irritate mortals for his own pleasure. He even manages to get on Selena's and Zoromir's nerves. As strange as he is, it's clear that Dante houses a dark power, but the full extent of this power is never seen. Besides tormenting mortals, Dante loves to play games, especially when the stakes are rather high. It's this kind of nature that makes Dante a powerful, yet irritating, familiar.

Bianca: A fence for the Thieves' Guild, and a former contact of Azk's. Bianca runs a small shop in the secretive Black Alley, called the Keel Haul. As a fence, Bianca hears a lot of rumors concerning treasures and trinkets. Bianca is described as being of Sandsea descent, with long, black hair, brown eyes, and dark skin.

Jack of Spades: The enigmatic leader of the Thieves' Guild, who, according to legend, stole the mask that he always wears from the Goddess of Twilight, Hakama. Being a thief, Jack is an opportunist. He rarely aids others unless he or his organization is benefitted in some way. That is not to say he is completely heartless, as he seems to harbor strong feelings for his right hand, the Queen of Hearts. No person has ever seen what Jack's face really looks like, as he seems to wear his mask day and night.

I hope the Billeh doesn't mind if I post some of the Eloths that appear in Ice Heart :D

Eloths: Eloths are mystical creatures born from the purest Twilight, given form by the goddess of Twilight herself, Hakama. These guardian beasts were bestowed upon those blessed by the Twilight Realm's Myst. Myst is the energy that makes up the realm and it's powers of Harmony, and is said to cling strongly to blessed individuals. Eloths were bestowed upon the eight "Myst Children" within the Sealed Chamber in the deepest floor of the Twilit Keep.

Finrod, The Beast of Dawn: Finrod, given to Steel as his shadow by Hakama when he was crowned Emperor, is the most powerful of the Eloths, said to be equal to, if not more powerful than, the Chaos Prince Drakath when he is within the Twilight Realm. Finrod is able to harness and use the powers of Twilight to their fullest, and takes on the forms of a tall man in a cloak, or a two-tailed golden wolf, whose pelt shifts like the night sky. Finrod is indestructable as long as he remains within the Twilight Realm, and is even said to be able to give others visions of the future.

Thobaan, The Coiling Spirit: Given to Rayzer, the giant Hood-Snake Thobaan is an enormous serpentine creature with brilliant silver scales and gives off a mercurial glow. Thobaan gets stronger and larger as Rayzer concentrates her magical abilities. He kills his foes by constricting them within the wrappings of his tail, then sinks in his fangs and purges them with a silver light. It is said he may be directly related to Rayzer's premonitions.

Ursus, The Mighty Patriarch: Ursus is the Eloth given to Slayer. The Mighty Patriarch gets his name by its nature. It is that of a guardian, a protector, and a leader. Ursus takes the form of a very large bear, with a deep brown pelt, with a large crescent moon pattern on its stomach, and white tipped furs, similar to the dotting of stars. He has huge claws, which he uses to tear apart enemies, and has the ability to create shockwaves and earthquakes, turning some enemies to dust.

Pangil, The Crimson Fang: Pangil belongs to Bill, and takes the shape of an enormous blood-red bat. Pangil specializes in taking down airborn enemies and is helpful in travel. He can create debilitating soundwaves to disorient enemies and go after then with his fangs and claws. In addition to this, he can create a heatwave by flapping his wings and whipping up a red wind, tearing into enemies. The Eloth coincidentally is reminiscent of Bill's encounters with vampires.

Hakkar, The Feral Shadow: Hakkar is huge panther made of pure shadow, wisps of darkness rising from his hide. As one would expect, Hakkar primarily focuses on tearing his opponents to pieces with his huge claws and fangs, and can merge with the shadows themselves. He can transform in the shape of a cloak to garb his user, giving them claws on their hands and feet and imbuing them with the power of shadow. He belongs to Azkikr.

Macka, The Whispering Leaf: Macka is an oscelot-like creature of a deep jade color. Plantlife grows following its every step. When she is summoned, it is said she is born from an emerald flower, grown from pure Myst. Macka is the Eloth of Leyla, and, like her user, has tremendous control over plantlife, able to summon gigantic vines from the earth and has the ability to jump enormous heights and climb with ease.

Kudaku, The Southern Torrent: Kudaku is a very large, majestic Arctic Fox with fur resembling that of freshly fallen snow. Kudaku's eyes are a deep azure, matching those of his master, Arata. Deep, azure colored swirls mark his legs and part of his undercarriage, as well as the tips of his ears. Four long tails spiral out from behind him. Kudaku is very powerful, though his primary physical weapons are his sharp teeth. He can bring icy waves of water upon his foes when it is available to him, or assault them with a burst of diamond dust formed from his breath, which cuts into his foes and freezes within, shattering with explosive force afterwards. When Alastor died, his Eloth and Myst merged with Arata and Kudaku, taking the form of a tattered greyish-purple cloak that hangs across Kudaku's back, never falling.

Iolair, The Sorrowful Gale: Before Alastor died, he was meant to receive the powerful Eloth Iolair, lord of the winds. This Eloth takes the form of a gigantic cross between a raven and a falcon, with deep black feathers with dashes of silver feathers as well. He has a huge pair of black wings, with a slightly smaller pair of silver wings directly beneath them, with a similar set of tail feathers, with a smaller set beneath the main one. It's eyes are golden with slashes of purple through them, and has a crest of silver across his chest. It attacks mainly with its sharp talons and strikes with it grey colored beak, which can pierce almost anything. It can muster up powerful gales with its dual pairs of wings, more powerful than the red wind of Pangil. These winds can form into small twisters and cut through things. It's said that when Iolair swoops through the air, it does so in a flash of lightning.

Added Draconor to the Twilight Knights gallery, added the remaining villains (I think) and added Cor and Dante to the "Others" section.

And of course you're welcome to post the Eloths, Arata! Actually, if there are any characters I missed, let me know and I'll add 'em.

Alright cool :D Well, then here are some of the Enemies of The Twilight In Ice Heart.

Antagonists in Ice Heart

Nyx: A cold hearted man who works as right hand man to God of Darkness, Yami. Nyx is what is known as a Fallen One, or a former angel, turned demon. He has jet black hair and porcelain colored skin, with ruby eyes and black lines leading from the eyelids to the bottom of his cheeks. However, his most prominent feature, or features, are the two huge black wings that sprout from his back. Nyx uses two dual blades of deepest black and crimson in battle, and, as a servant of Yami, has a certain control over darkness. He seems to especially hate Selena.

Yami: Yami has appeared all through the ages in all manners of legend, folklore, and even worship. However, these legends are for more than simple stories, for Yami is a real, tangible (mostly) being. Known as the God of Darkness, Yami is said to be responsible for all shadows cast beneath the light, and for all the creatures that prosper within those shadows. He helps bring nightfall to the land, and the evils associated with it. Yami lords over many creatures and demons of the night, with other divisions of these monstrosities overseen by his Deitous Siblings. The God of Darkness is worshipped by a nearly extinct cult of magic, known as Shadowmancy. Shadowmancy stems from the power of Lord Yami himself and is used to conjure up magics of all kinds of darkness. Each of his tomes is written in a language known as Shadowspeak, his own tongue, and can only be translated by master Shadowmancers. Yami is depicted as a tall, gaunt figure, with no face to mark his countenance, merely a violet gem that radiates across the murky surface of his head. Wisps of darkness fall from his head to the floor (his toes?). He takes special interest in Selena, who is somehow connected to his greatest desciple, Zoromir.

Empousa: Known as the Father of Blood, Empousa is the creator of the vampire race, as well as other offshoots of the species found in places such as Shadowfall and Darkovia. He takes the shape of a stooped, emaciated (dangerously thin) man with deep grey, almost black skin with a sickly undertone. His skin is rough and almost leprous, with crimson soaked eyes and blood constantly dripping from his fangs and clawed hands and feet. He has a pair of large wings that stem from his back, also dripping with the liquid. His direct descendants look very similar, albeit in better health, taking on the form of humanoid creatures with bat wings. Over the ages, their forms have changed to more attractive ones, providing a much easier way to lure in prey without diminishing their strength and speed. Most vampires have feral forms however, resemlbing that of the direct descendants. Despite Empousa's hollow looking state, he is very powerful. He has control over a power called Hell's Blood, where he can control the blood in his body and in the bodies of his descendants and use it as a weapon. He can physically turn his vessels into long tendril-like spears that suck a person dry in seconds.

Talona: Mother of Chaos and Matron of Entropy, Talona is the Goddess responsible for the nature of chaos in all aspects of life. She is a primary source of Drakath's powers, her curse upon the world leading him to where he is now. Her powers are set in direct opposition of her sister, Hakama, goddess of Twilight and Harmony. No physical form has yet been seen of Talona, though her attempts at ressurrection seem to involve the act of possession. Within her Ring of Poison, her spirit resided, which she then used whisper doubt into the mind of Bill, until finding another wearer once the seal had been broken, allowing her to fully possess the girl she had attached to. (In an alternate telling, it was actually an Agent of Talona within the ring, who had possessed Finrod in order to bring back Talona itself.)

The Twins: Two identical, hulking figures without names, garbed in tattered cloaks and possessing eyes of soulless red. This pair of Goliath's accompanied the mad man Sangue in his attempts to revive Geddon and the other Fallen Gods. The two possess immense strength and stamina, able to break the earth before them with a stomp, or crush an enemy with a fist. Whenever Sangue attempts to make a sacrifice, the two stop anyone from interfering. When Sangue died however, they moved on their own, awaiting the Twilight Knights at the Chapel in Darkovia. When they faced the Knights, they actually spoke, as opposed to their normal clicking for communication. When they were cornered and torn to pieces, they reformed from a disfigured mass of black liquid, amalgamating into their true form, a ten and a half foot tall creature, rippling with muscle and completely black. It has one large red, vertically running eye on its face, with a sewn together mouth directly beneath it. When it moves quickly, its lower half becomes a puddle, allowing it to slid across surfaces with ease. It attacks with huge, lethal claws. Their attempt to sacrifice Bill revealed that they were actually agents of Talona. It is wondered whether they were ever really loyal to Sangue at all.

Kegasu: Kegasu is referred to in legend as the Spirit of Corruption. His powers go hand in hand with Talona's and he is also the personal guardian of Geddon. The Spirit of Corruption is said to spread exactly what his name implies. He is the essence of corruption itself, the emotion that takes hold when the soul of someone is in chaos and turmoil. It brings out jealousy and hate and eats away at people. It is said that he shall continue to exist as long as corruption afflicts people, even if he is physically destroyed. Kegasu takes the shape of a muscular humanoid with jet black skin, continually hovering above the ground. His eyes are simply two glowing orbs of red that rest within empty eye sockets and he lacks a mouth, though his voice is omnipresent. He has deep crimson and violet markings that run along his chest, making the shape of a withered rose. He has numerous spikes along his elbows, back, neck and chest, which play off as the rose's thorns. Cords run beneath the surface of his black flesh, some from the center of the flower, representing its roots. The cords exit the flesh on the underside of his wrists. They appear a deep crimson color. Attached to the cords are two sickles that he grips in each hand.

Geddon: Geddon, in time before humans, was the original God of Death. His embrace over the world brought eventual death to all life. He was meant to guard and shepherd the souls of those lost to paradise, repentence, or punishment. However, he wanted more than the underworld for himself, attempting to take the living world as part of his domain. For this, he was sealed beneath the underworld itself by chains connected to four legacies. Geddon's job as Shepherd of Souls was taken on by the Death we know now, the Grim Reaper. Geddon was soon joined by his kin after their own transgressions, weaving Kegasu out of negative emotion and the powers of Talona. He vowed to be released one day, along with his brethren, and was, once Sangue came along. After being sealed, Geddon's powers and form diminished. He was reduced to a human shaped creature, with grey, leathery and almost scale-like skin, and still bears the deep cuts that were inflicted upon him, eternally bleeding cimmerian blood and refusing to heal. He has golden eyes with a black sclera, and glistening, spire-like teeth, and a slimy black tongue. His fingers are like gnarled claws, but his touch and embrace are cold and soothing, putting those who suffer it into eternal sleep. The chains upon him are used as whips, and his touch also drains the life from a person into him. When he was full power, imbued with souls of the damned after punishing them, his body now silver and black and covered in dark markings. Sickly yellow spikes protruded from his shoulders, elbows, and knees, slicked with black blood. Large spiraled horns tore outward from his head, curving around his skull. His spine was risen up from the skin, small spikes shooting from the vertebrae until it reached the base of his skull, and he had wings of pure black bone with dark vapors around them. His eyes were filled with the faces of the damned.
(Fun Fact: Did you know that, according to legend, Geddon and Talona were lovers, and their combined powers allowed them to create Kegasu, who is referred to as their son in some texts.)

Other Gods:

Death: A simple figure in an ancient black cloak, a living scythe twisted about his body, with a hand of rotted bone, and one of bright silver. Death's face has been seen by no one, his hood an endless void. Master of Hourglasses, Keeper of the Sands, all of which represent the remainder of life in every person in the World. Death took over the job of guiding and judging souls when Geddon, the Original Death God was sealed away. He resides beneath Death's hollow, entering through its narrow cavern into the plains of purgatory called Sa'al Heilim, where souls go to repent. He passes judgment, where the genuine and benevolent souls move on to Elysium, or Paradise, and the malevolent souls are Punished for eternity. The living scythe that twists about his arm is able to remove souls from their vessels.

Mori: The Child Goddess of Nature, Mori takes on the form of a young girl in a soft purple robe surrounded by vines and held together by an emerald, with a tunic of similar shade beneath it, trimmed with green and gold. Pale green hair falls down past her shoulders, tied together by lavender near the end, with a clip of the same plant and color by her ear. Her eyes are a peculiar mixture of gold and green. She is often depicted playing a small harp of violet with golden ivy patterns, and strings of gold, with leaves sprouting from the top of the instrument. Mori is the Goddess of nature, associated primarily with plantlife, and resides within the mythical realm of the Emerald Glade, which, like the Twilight Realm, opens up only at sunset, but only at the consent of a God. The particular opening varies, but it is always in the center of Greenguard Forest. Nearly every tree within Emerald Glade is an Ent, which is a living tree, with human characteristics. When uprooted, they often have huge arms and legs, and have the ability to speak. They are very powerful, and act as Mori's guardians. Mori is found in the center of Emerald Glade, often sitting upon a large rock at the edge of a small, clear pond. When under attack, plantlife automatically springs to life around her, defending her from harm and lashing out at enemies. It is said she is the source of Leyla's plant magic.

Hakama: Goddess of Twilight and Harmony, and creator of the Twilight Realm. She bestowed the power of Twilight upon Steel Fire, so that he might see out the continuation of harmony in Lore. She is the sister of Talona, Goddess of Discord. She appears as a simple woman, but one of indescribable beauty and respect that is not shown in her physical features. Long, silvery hair flows from her head, with a simple band across her head, like an overly-simplified tiara. On the back of her right hand is an image of the sun, and on her left, an image of the moon. She is garbed in simple grey and beige robes, trailing behind her in a fluid like motion. A long strip of silk flows around her arms and behind her neck, with small spheres of pearlescent color float behind her shoulders. In this telling, she was the one who blessed specific Knights with the Myst and made them Myst Children. Like the Myst Children, it is said that she chose one to be Endowed with the power of life.

Arcterra: Arcterra is the namesake of a arctic region in the south, a huge chunk of land made up of tundra and cut off from the outside world by mountains and treacherous reefs. He is also the namesake and creator of Arata's tribe, the Arcterrans. Arcterra is the God of Winter and the God of Water. Long ago, he wove a race out of pure snow, and gave them life through the ocean, in an attempt to create a people that would outlast all others. For this purpose, he raised them on the unforgiving tundras, creating a sturdy, powerful clan. He allowed a certain diversity from the start, but the clan keeps a law on mixing with complete outsiders to a certain degree. Arcterra did not want the bloodline to be tainted. Arcterra has long, azure hair, the color of the ocean, that flows down to the middle of his back. His eyes are ice blue, and his skin very pale, like the moon. His body is rugged with muscle and scars, and his face also ruggedly handsome. For the most part, his torso is bare, aside from the arctic fox pelt the runs up his side and around his shoulder and arm. He is constantly seen with a large, pristinely white fox at his side. He has the ability to control water and ice entirely, a power passed down to his descendants, albeit weaker. They also share his icy eyes, blue hair, and pale skin. As a gift to his people, Arcterra erected the Temple of Torrents, a massive temple made entirely out of ice, but hard as diamonds. Within it was a legendary katana forged by Arcterra himself, known as Hokkyoku. The weapon was claimed to be the source of his blessings, where praying to it was praying to him, and the people believed their lands would be blessed by bounties of foxes and the seas bounties of fish. During the traditional rite of passage for young men, just turned 16, they are required to pass through the Temple, which shifts and produces monsters, to lay hands on the Katana and be deemed worthy. Legend has it one day, one will step forward who is finally able to use Hokkyoku. Arcterra wields a large, ivory blade, similar to Hokkyoku in design, though it is larger.

Mythic

William Ebonheart: A bounty hunter who travels the galaxy, taking contracts and odd jobs to try and pay off the massive debt he owes to the crime organization called the Syndicate. Bill isn't much of a people person; he often works alone during contracts, so working with an actual crew is a bit of a new experience for him. While Bill is handy in a brawl, his greatest asset is his cool demeanor during combat and his quick trigger finger. Bill cannot stand being betrayed or shafted in any way.

Allen Caelum: A seventeen year old boy who has lived his entire life aboard the Asteria Space Station. Allen is the result of a genetic splicing experiment, code named Project Minotaur. The experiment was to attempt to successfully combine human and alien DNA. Allen was the experiment's only success (He is also called Subject Epsilon, which might imply that he was the fifth attempt to create a hybrid). When Allen feels threatened or angered, his hybrid DNA kicks in, allowing him to transform into a powerful Pravile/Human beast. Being somewhat of an outcast, Allen is an introvert. He's taken a great liking to Vic Solum, an engineer who works on the Asteria Docks.

Zahannah Bane: A young Toranian girl who wound up at the Asteria after she fled her planet when a civil war broke out. As a Toranian, Zahannah feels a deep connection to machinery, and has the ability to interface with machines with her mind. She is usually a cheerful person, but when pressed, her inner fire and attitude seem to come to life. Zahannah runs her store, Bane's Techs and Machines, in the Asteria's merchant section. She is also a skilled pilot.

Haren: A member of the Kair'n species, a race of powerful fighters and warriors. Haren is a genetically altered clone, his DNA taken from that of a fallen Kair'n warrior. Haren was created to be superior to his lesser bretheren and help ensure the continuation of his species. However, when the Galactic Federation stormed the lunar bunker where Haren was, he escaped, and disappeared into space. Haren loves heavy melee weapons, like warhammers, and can also gore his enemies with his large, imposing horns.

Victum "Vic" Solum: Vic works as an engineer for the Asteria Space Station, fixing up old ships for travelers and visitors. A man in his late thirties, Vic is large and very fit, with sandy brown hair, a layer of gray flecked stubble, and bright blue eyes. and his skill with a Pulse Blade suggests years of combat experience. However, he also exhibits a genuinely kind personality and interest in the well being of others. Vic met Allen while down at the docks some time ago, and agreed to train him in the art of Pulse Blades. Though against Aura Caelum's wishes, Vic continues to train Allen, having developed something of a father-son relationship with the boy, and cares deeply for him. He and Doctor McKinney seem to know each other somehow, and Vic also seems to know something about Project Minotaur, though he refuses to speak anything of his past or knowledge of the project.

Aura Caelum: A well respected member of Asteria's Xenoscience Team, Aura is woman of 38 years of age, though she still retains a glowing, young look about her. At age 21, she volunteered herself as a surrogate for the very start of Project Minotaur 17 years ago. She was injected with the genetic material of Pravile, needed for conception. The result was a seemingly very human baby, whose DNA had merged with that of the male Pravile. He was code named Subject Epsilon. Though she was told not to become attached to the subject, Aura went on to take custody of him, naming him Allen.
Her primary associate with the Project is Doctor McKinney, who shamelessly comes onto her, much to her chagrin. She is very protective of Allen, refusing to let him get hurt or be influenced by violence, and therefore is very much against his training with Vic.

Legend Reborn

Evelyn: A young woman who lived in the peaceful town of Sayle all of her life. As a child, Evelyn was drawn to the tales of the fabled Twilight Knights. The stories struck a chord with young Evelyn, who became fascinated by the legendary group. Evelyn's peaceful life is shattered when Chaos Priest Korrec invades Lore with his army of Enforcers, destroying Sayle and almost all of it's inhabitants. Eve manages to escape only with the aid of Brother Hodges, the local Priest of Harmony.

Tasu: A young, blue-haired boy who many say resembles the Twilight Knight Arata. Tasu doesn't remember his parents very well, only that they seemed to abandon him at a very young age and for no apparent reason. Tasu raised himself (with help from the community of Sayle) and has settled into life as the town's resident fisherman. He has been friends with Evelyn ever since they were children.

Astra Delle Tenebre: A noble who resides within the walls of Swordhaven, Astra harbors a dark secret. Although born to a noble name, Astra was also born into something else entirely. A family of assassins. At a young age, Astra began training with her parents in the shadowy arts, and after several years proved to be an effective merchant of death. After her parents died, she inherited their fortune, using her noble name as a cover for her real work. As an assassin, Astra is a cold, yet effective killer, who favors a rather magnificent pair of diamond daggers. She has lately come under scrutiny by the captain of Swordhaven's guard.

Will update soon

Darkened Memory:

Scarlet Frost: Scarlet, full name Scarlet Frost, is a highly respected member of the guild. She is considered the most beautiful and dangerous of the group, second only to the Queen of Hearts. She has fiery red hair and ice blue eyes and uses a short, but wickedly sharp and curved blade in battle. She is infamous around the black alley and Swordhaven, a thief that many call the Crimson Snowfall. She is called this because of her lethal cunning and skills in battle, where she is vicious. Whenever confronted by the authorities (though she usually manages to just slip away), she quickly disposes of them. However, she is also beautiful and fragile looking, like falling snow. Hence, the Crimson Snowfall. On the outside, she is an ice queen, and is fiercely independant, but what she truly wants is someone to understand her. Not to fear her, or lust for her, but to actually try and know her. (Fun Fact: Rumor has it that the legendary band of assassins, the Night Angels, attempted to recruit Scarlet, but she declined. She claimed she did not kill for sport or money, merely to survive.)

Cyrus:

(Will add and fill out characters as they appear in the story)

Enemies:

Acheron:

Nocere: Loyal friend to Acheron. Nocere is what is known as a Dark Beastmaster, specializing in the taming and control of dark and ill-natured creatures, his favorite being ravens. As a child, Nocere was looked down upon and feared for his gift to speak to the ravens who often occupied the cemetary near the orphanage in which he lived. His fellow orphan and only friend was Acheron, who looked after him like a brother. However, one day, he received a warning from the ravens that he would soon be in danger. That night someone (likely an angry group of villagers) set fire to the orphanage to purge it. In his attempt to escape, a pile of burning beams fell across his body and face. Acheron arrived and helped him to safety, but Nocere was badly burned, scarring him for the rest of his life. He now covers the burns with multiple wrappings of black cloth. Nocere will do anything for Acheron and will kill anyone who opposes his friend.

Hahaha, sorry, but this is true :p Staying as one thing without a basis behind it is, well, not very appealing. The character Arata is very deep and set as the Icy Duellist, but Zevandir doesn't really exist, as such. Zevandir has been the following things; A Barbarian with a big axe, a Paladin, a Doomknight, a Sort of Priest Warrior dude (Rolith's Hammer is AWESOME_SAUCE), a Hydra Knight (For about an hour), a Solaris knight, and a super-assasin. :D Go me!

Post-Twilight Knights: The Remnants

Bill: A warrior by trade, who was inducted into the TK after his and Selena's efforts to destroy the vile Ring of Poison. Since the destruction of the TK, and the abandonment of the Twilight Realm, Bill has found little peace in the world. Unable to ignore his adventurous spirit, Bill has since begun wandering the lands of Lore, never staying in one place for too long. Bill's travels have only honed his swordmanship further, and the warrior has used his improved skills against Drakath's chaos soldiers, who still patrol the lands. With the rise of the Great Dragon and the Draconic Legion, however, Bill dons his sturdy chainmail and straps on his trusted ruby blade, Mandurugo, and immediately sets off on one last adventure.

Arata: A young man who joined the Twilight after being swept onto the shores of Lore from his homeland of Arcterra. Arata was instrumental in several of the Twilight's campaigns during his time with them. After the Twilight's fall, Arata and Leyla escaped Drakath's assault on the Twilight Realm and fled to Sayle, where the two first met. Since then, the two have been married and living peacefully in Sayle. Arata, now a member of the Company of the Bladed Crescent, has been working to the good of Sayle's community, acting as a defender and a supporter. When the Great Dragon rises, however, Arata ventures from Sayle, bidding farewell to his new home, and hello to one last journey.

Leyla: A young woman from Sayle who tended to Arata's wounds when they first met, and later, would end up marrying the blue haired duelist. Leyla is a druid, one of Mori's chosen spellcasters, who can interact with the plant life around her. Escaping the destruction of the Twilight with Arata, the two eventually settled in Sayle and were married. While Arata has joined a local mercenary group, Leyla has taken a less active role, aiding the mercantile groups around town however she can. When the Great Dragon and it's Legion arose, Leyla, seeing Arata's resolve in stopping the armageddon, swore to help him however possible.

Xavier: The white robed and overly cynical Twilight Mage. Xavier is a master sorcerer, but can't stand incompetence of any kind, which is why he harped on the newer Twilight recruits. After the Twilight's fall, Xavier escaped Drakath's onslaught and fled to Swordhaven. His expertise as a mage and his knowledge of magical studies landed him a job as the court mage of Swordhaven (where he personally advises King Alteon on courses of action). When Xavier learns of the Dragonfire Prophecy, he becomes angered with the royal court and seeks more information on the subject. When the Great Dragon appears, Xavier abandons his post in Swordhaven to find a way to stop the armageddon.

Azk: The Twilight's former assassin and leader. Azk is a good natured man, though he seems distant or cold to those that do not know him. A former Night Angel, Azk is a natural merchant of death, specializing in all kinds of weaponry. After the Twilight's fall and the realm's destruction, Azk became even more withdrawn from the world. Obsessed with vengeance, he sought to kill Drakath and even the score between them. When the Great Dragon rises, however, Azk temporarily abandons his plans of revenge to assist his former companions.

Selena: The last of the Shadowmancers, a group of mages who were devoted to the worship of Yami and were believed to be able to manipulate darkness. After barely surviving the assassination attempt on her life, it wasn't long after that the Twilight fell and she and Azk fled together. While she empathizes with Azk's desire for revenge, she attempts to persuade him from his course, believing that vengeance will only bring more ruin to them. Selena has given up on her Shadowmancy as well, as disturbing thoughts have been flowing through her mind. When the Great Dragon rises, Selena (hesitantly) takes up the dark art once more.

The Great Dragon: Once thought to be little more than a fairy tale, the great dragon is a creature unlike most that graces Lore's lands. Imprisoned hundreds of years ago, the seal that held the mighty draconian deteriorated and failed, allowing the dragon to escape and begin to ravage Lore once more. Calling to it's side are all manner of dragonkind and dragon worshippers, like the Dracomancers. The rise of the Great Dragon incites fear in the kingdom of Swordhaven, where the Dragonfire Prophecy has been an issue of late.
